ABOUT

Linda Karlsson is a Swedish writer, traveller, photographer, yogini and mother, living on the vibrant and inspiring Mediterranean island of Ibiza.

With a Swedish father and a Polish mother, she got off to a quick start in mixing languages and cultures. Growing up in some of the most infamous immigrant-rich areas in the south of Sweden (in fact, a few blocks away from the footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic!) made her feel more at home with diversity than she ever would with the opposite.

Upon finishing high school she immediately started travelling, with her first destination being Alicante. Working as an au-pair in the daytime and getting lost in El Barrio at night, deep diving into those pulsing Spanish nights. It was in one of the plazas shaded by massive trees and cooled by fountains that she was gifted the book "The Beach" by Alex Garland. After only a few pages she knew what her next mission would be - to find her own "beach." Spending many years searching geographically while the metaphors were screaming at her to look within, it wasn't until she had her second child that she finally connected all the dots of her soul searching.

Linda holds a BA in Indian Philosophy from SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London) and an MA in Photojournalism from Universidad Autonoma in Barcelona.

The year of photojournalist studies in Barcelona initiated her first publications; writing for Elephant Journal, published in Swedish travel magazines and daily newspapers. Starting a blog at S
wedish travel magazine RES about Barcelona in 2011 it then transformed to an Ibiza-blog which is still active today.

In 2011 she wrote the first draft of her memoir called "Escaping the Magic" which she then had rejected by most publishers, only to realise a few years later that it was in fact only a first draft. In February 2017, during a three day escape alone to Puglia, she took it back up again. It's about her travels, inner and outer, where it has taken her; geographically, spiritually and psychologically, and the funny, weird and crazy people you meet in the yoga world.

Her first son, Pi, crashed into her life in 2013 and changed everything. In 2015, Noy, her sweet little one, gently joined the tribe. Both were born in Ibiza, and are raised speaking 5 languages.
